Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Bitterly disappointed Comment: I took delivery of 2 TV's both of which had to be returned - I now have the cash and will invest some more time in researching before I throw my money away again! On both occasions, the TV managed to tune the analogue channels with no problem, but the moment it came to the digital channels the TV's went to a solid blue screen (of death?!). Nothing in the manuals helped resolve the problem. Maybe I was just unlucky, but I will never buy a Philips set again. Customer Rating: Summary: Disappointed Comment: Bought this TV a year ago. As noted by other reviewers the picture quality from freeview signal is not great - certainly not even close to a CRT with a freeview box. Also disappointing when playing DVDs connected via SCART in that the picture is very blurred and unresponsive - you also get shadowy embossing of the current tuned TV channel showing up! Occassionally the digital TV picture breaks up completely and you have to either switch to a different channel until it recovers or even reboot - again not a problem I have with either of my freeview boxes - s/w upgrade Philips? The menu system is clunky and counter-intuitive in places - e.g. having brought up the EPG you always have to scroll down before you can scroll up - another s/w upgrade needed? My Sony hard disk recorder has a much better EPG and interface. Given the glowing reports from others maybe I just have a duff set but as it stands, certainly not worth the money I paid. On the plus side? - the sound is OK. Won't be buying another Philips anytime soon though. Customer Rating: Summary: Very good product Comment: I received this product recently. It was a doddle to instal and gives an excellent picture. Although the popular size in shops seems to be 32", this 26" set is totally adequate for our living room.
