Summary: Great sound dynamic - much better than cheaper Sennheiser models
Comment: I've had these for over a year, using them every day on my delay commute and no problem so far with build quality. It took me a few weeks to get used to them, coming from Sennheiser model. Cheap earbuds tend to accentuate the bass, so when moving to these "proper" earbud my first impression was that there was no bass. This is misleading. Actually what other earbuds do is saturate the bass, destroying all sound dynamic across higher frequency.
I find that they fit very comfortably around my ears. There are many different adapter provided. I personally favour the softer rubber ones.
Definitely no regrets buying them. I'm thinking upgrading now to the high end model, once I've finishing converting my cd library to highest quality MP3 ;-)

    Summary: Just buy them
Comment: As a non-techie/audiophile, I obviously looked at BOSE. A sucker for the marketing I guess, I went to the store in York UK, and the salespeople just hacked me off, it was like double-glazing or life insurance selling. Patronision vs loyal selling - discuss!
Anyway, more research led me to these babies, I have had them for over a year, and apart from losing the spare buds (which were easily replaced by AMAZON), they have been excellent.

    Summary: Flawed
Comment: Great sound, but the cables have cracked where they loop behind the ear, so I'm expecting them to pack up soon. An expensive mistake!

    Summary: Poor build quality
Comment: I've got the same comments as many here - great sound, poor build quality on the cables.
I'm a casual user of these earphones and it's a shame to see a product with good sound let down by poor quality of cabling.
Shure replaced my first set as it was under warranty but the second pair also failed (even more quickly than the first) but the warranty didn't cover these as it didn't begin again with the replacements.
Don't plan of any quality of after sales service from Shure!

    Summary: Superb sound, poor durability
Comment: I have to agree with a number of other reviewers - if you take the time to get the right fit then these headphones deliver wonderful sound BUT both I and my sister have had problems with splitting of the insulation/covering close to the buds. Neither of us is careless or heavy-handed but you can't avoid the damage as either looping over the ear or winding the cable in the case eventually takes it's toll. It's sad to see this basic design flaw & I hope someone from Shure reads some of these reviews to ensure that future products don't suffer from this problem.
