Based on other reviews I purchased these Creature IIs to replace it and connect up my MP3 player in the lounge and I am well pleased. Having tried the usual small portable MP3 player speakers at the lower end of the market I wanted something with a bit more clout that you wouldn't be embarrassed to play with guests round. I found that you can quickly find yourself looking at docking stations and £150 + speaker systems when you go down this path - all I can say is unless you are seriously into your gadgets/brands/technical acoustic qualities then don't bother, just get these and save your money. They are simplicity itself to set up and use, they connect to your MP3 player through a headphone jack and will give you all the volume you need up to a point where you'd be better off with a PA system. The best thing is that they do not look, feel or sound cheap, and give out lovely bass. Faithless never sounded so good. Highly recommended. Customer Rating: Summary: a great flexible product Comment: I bought some of these well over a year ago, and a second set 8 months ago. I have been very happy with them. At less than fifty quid now, they're a bargain. The sound quality is pretty good and they go loud enough for an office, bedroom or small lounge. Don't overdo the bass control - keep it reasonable and realistic. They're great with my laptop, but get used more frequently to provide more stereo ooomph when connected to my Pure Oasis digital radio. I place the sub under the desk out of the way. I've even used them as "travel speakers", although a little bulky, you can pack all the kit back into its box, and as long as you're going by car, you can take on holiday to wherever you will have mains power. Good for watching DVDs on the laptop in ski appartments :) I bought the second set for my daughter who's at Uni. She's the envy of her flatmates now for having the best sound system. Laptop or iPod plus these speakers makes an acceptable budget hi fi system. Customer Rating: Summary: great buy Comment: Great sound for a flat. If you have neighbours it goes louder than you'll ever be able to get away with! It looks stunning and the little creatures are the perfect companion to a black macbook - really funky in red, although the centre creature is a lot larger than I expected. Bass and treble are controlled with the centre creature. Volume is touch control (plus and minus buttons) on the right mini speaker, which is really effective. If you're looking to fill a huge space with top level sound, this isn't the product for you as sound distorts a little at the max, but if it's for your office, flat or large room then I wholeheartedly recommend it. I love them i haven't been disappointed on any count. The sound quality is fabulous the bass is great. The design is very well thought through, i especially like the touch sound controls on the right satellite one is plus one minus, mute with a simultaneous touch!
