Summary: It's so cheap for a reason!
Comment: I got one of these three months ago. Initially, it seemed fine although I noticed some of my TV
recordings from another machine would occasionally pause or break up. However, the worse thing
about this is that if/when you pause the picture or FF or REW the picture, the video and audio then
go out of synch by a second or so for the rest of the movie! This can't be altered and will ruin
your viewing experience. This happened with about 50% of discs I played in it. My advice would be
not to purchase this DVD player and and to go for something else instead costing a little more.

rented dvd and it got stuck. i checked the manual which had no troubleshooting section and searched
the internet for info on the starlogic company so as to let them honour their 1 year guarantee but

Summary: A disapointment
Comment: When I bought this DVD player in April, I thought what a bargain, even though it was around £20 I
thought it could not go wrong.

It was fine for a couple of months, but then I would put a disc in
and it would say NO-DISC. This only happened once or twice. Now it won't play anything.

I urge you
not to buy this, go for the sony one which is around £50.

Summary: Cheap, Decent Quality Machine
Comment: I bought this player as a replacement for my Surround Sound system (complaining neighbours due to
noise..). I wanted a cheap, multi-region player that was reliable and good quality.

I wasn't
disappointed. I bought this player 7 months ago and have had no problems. The only quirks are (as
other reviewers have noted) the subtitles being on the first time you set up the machine, but this
is easily turned off. The player itself would benefit from an LED on/off light, and the remote is
rather tacky - think old plastic calculators from primary school.

But for the price, this is a
great machine. It plays anything you pop in it, any region, DVD-RW, MP3 etc. The picture quality is
good, it is slimline and perfect as a second player in a bedroom or if you're short on space. It
even looks smart, so you can pretend you spent more money on it than you did.

You can't expect
more than that for the same price as a DVD, can you? If you want expensive extras, or the comfort of
buying a brand name, then spend more money on something else. If you want cheap reliability, with
all the basics you could need, this player is for you.

Summary: Terrible shoddy product
Comment: Packed up 7 months after buying it - no contact information in the instructions despite a promise of
a 1-year guarantee. Amazon really shouldn't be selling this kind of rubbish, especially around
Christmas time when people will be buying things like this for gifts. I have complained to Amazon
and hopefully they will either track down information on how to make Starlogic honour their
warranty, or offer some form of replacement or refund.
