Summary: Does exactly what it says on the box
Comment: As she was stuck for an extra Christmas present for my fiance, I recommended this DVD player to my
mother. She bought it for him and it worked beautifully straight out of the box. The picture is
clear, the sound has excellent clarity and we're totally happy with the player. We've had no
problems at all with pre recorded DVDs and although a DVD-R we tried to watch was in black and
white, we're not sure if that was a problem with the DVD rather than the player. Another DVD-R
we've played worked beautifully.

I was rather shocked to read so many negative reviews posted
recently as we've been more than happy with the unit.

Summary: A lottery - will it/won't it work?
Comment: This was my first DVD player, I'd been holding out for DVD recorders to come with built-in freeview
tuners but saw this and thought that it'll do until the recorders come down in price. I was wrong, 2
months later it failed to open & close the draw, luckily there was no DVD in the machine at the
time. So it looks like I now need to review other DVD players.

Picture and sound quality was
acceptable and the only noise that I noticed was on opening & closing the draw and starting the disc
but this was not overbearing, as it was located far enough from where we sit to watch TV. The small
print instruction manual could be difficult to see and confusing to a technophobe, then again I
guess that the majority of people just stick a DVD in and press play. However if you want to view
JPGs it can be slow accessing the images and the navigation controls are also confusing.

This may
be a multi-region player but just about any single region player can be converted with just a few
key presses of the remote after a quick trawl of the web (just check before you buy).

If it had
continued to work than I would have been happy with it and my only bugbear was the lack of a
power/standby light.
I can't really recommend something that fails so early on in it's life,
especially as it appears that there are others in a similar situation.

Summary: DON'T BUY
Comment: returned this dvd player a week after buying it. It had numerous problems, first main one, was on
about half the dvds it would get stuck approximately half way thru, and it wouldn't let you skip to
next scene (basically you couldn't watch the movie anymore after it froze). Then on some occasions
the sound was way off, either it didn't match the video on tv (off by a split second but still
really irritating) or you could hear background sound fine but voices were ridiculously
quiet.

Definately will spend a few extra bucks and get a high quality dvd player this time around.

Comment: Ok the machine cost £25 so I went ino this with my eyes open that it could have been a pile of
junk. That said I ordered it Friday it arrived Monday.
This machine is excellent, its thin,
silver, build quality to look at is fine. It plays everything, no word of a lie. I had to see if I
could find an unreadable disk, CD's work, UK region 2 works, imported Region 1 works, disk I bought
from a market works, better still RCE version of a disk works as well!!!!

If this machine falls
apart next week for the price I paid and the immediate joy I got out of it would be worth it.

Summary: if i could give this a zero stars ratin i would.
Comment: i was impressed by the price and i was just buyin it so i could play any dvd i wanted i wasnt too
bothered about if it was going to be amazin quality or not. i bought 2, 1 of them didnt work at all,
the 2nd one has worked for 2 months and is as dead ast the parrott off the monty python sketch, heap
of crap.
