Summary: Just what we needed!
Comment: We got married before Christmas and had a DVD of the day made by a mate. One problem we didn't have
a DVD player, still living in the VHS age!

So on to amazon and after reading the review I plumped
for the cheap and cheerful Starlogic. For the price it can't be beaten. Good quality and although
there is no scart cable in the box there is a composite cable which gives a perfect picture on our
early '90s hand me down TV.

I'll be buying one for my parents and anyone else who we send our DVD
out to who doesn't have a player.

Can't beat it for the price, just wish I'd bought some region 1
DVDs while I was on honeymoon.

Summary: Swings and roundabouts
Comment: I bought this as a cheap machine just after christmas. It worked great, little humming noise but
nothing that annoying. And it did only cost £30, but then it played every kind of disc i gave so i
was well impressed. Then last week it went pop! and stopped working. So I emailed amazon and they
said send it back, so i did(cost £18.50) and have been informed 4 daus later that they are sending
a replacemen. they have also refunded the return cost(as amazon gift voucher) and given me the cost
of replacing the dvd that got stuck inside when it stopped working.
For the price, i dont mind
it btreaking, just as long as the new one works ok. I didnt want bells and whistles and this dvd
player is perfect(when it works).

Summary: Terrrible!
Comment: Saw the good reviews and so bought one of these as Xmas present for parents after reading the good
reviews. Discovered that for many discs that played fine on other players the sound and picture
were not in sync. Returned it to Amazon and had replacement shipped which had exactly the same
fault and stopped working completly soon after. Returned it again and this time got a refund and
bought the more expensive, but infinitely better Phillips model that Amazon sell.

I don't know if
this was just a bad batch of Starlogics that I happened to encounter!

Summary: Annoying
Comment: A nice, slimline design and easy to set up. However, to my immense disappontment when playing any
DVD lots of tiny squares appear on the screen accompanied by two fairly thick lines down the middle
of the screen which are even more obvious when the picture gets brighter. Very irritating.

Summary: One day...it never woke up again.
Comment: I bought this DVD few days after Christmas. I was very happy indeed: outstanding performance,
multiregion and excellent price. Suddenly a month later it started to have problems: little squares
everywhere in the screen, later on the remote wouldn't work and finally, death. The £29.99 I paid
back then end up where they belong...in the bin. I could have fix it (for a unknown amount of
money). With all the bad reviews I read of people who in first place gave a positive one.... makes
me wonder....
Anyway, I did learn something: from now on, I'll pay a little more, for something
that will actually work.
