Nothing's perfect.
On investigating (voiding the warranty being more funthan the hassle of returning the thing) I found the internal fuse had blown. After reading anotherreviewer who replaced the fuse only to have it blow again I decided to bin it.
Well what can youexpect for £20! In future I'll go with my instincts and buy a known brand and pay a little more.
I had a similar subtitle problem to many other people (always on), but found out that thedefault on the player had been set to ON instead of OFF so this was an easy fix.
All in all, for£20 you can't expect quality control to be as good as more expensive brands, and I'm more thanhappy with this DVD player - especially since it doesn't even have a problem with some of my older(and slightly scratched) disks.
In summery: is does excatly what itis says it does! CHEAPLY
My only niggle and it is minor is that there is nostandby light. This is only an issue when I use the player for listening to music without the TVon. When I've finished I can't tell if it's turned off or not. Told you it was minor :)
Insummary, this player is so good for the money that I'm thinking of buying another one just for thehell of it!
