Editorial Reviews:
The PG-01 has already become an icon of the UK DAB digital radio market. It offers an unbeatable combination of features including powerful 5 watt stereo speakers, and dual band DAB and FM. With its soft curves and beech veneer casework, this elegant radio will stand out in any kitchen or bedroom. It is further accented with silver grill speakers, brushed steel-effect curved handle and round volume dial. A metallic panel at the top of the radio houses the button controls, and a pale blue LCD screen that displays the name of the station currently playing and may show programme information, including the song currently playing or news headlines, depending on the radio station. Operating the radio is very easy. The user can switch from FM to DAB signals, and adjust the settings at the push of a button. In DAB mode, theradio automatically tunes to all available DAB stations, so there are no frequencies to remember. Instead, the listener can simply scroll through the list of available stations and select the one they want. For convenience, four favourite DAB and four FM stations can be stored on the preset buttons. It also features an alarm clock with sleep mode. The radio is mains powered and is supplied with a power lead and telescopicaerial. Two 5-Watt stereo speakers ensure optimum sound quality, and the radio has the added benefit of a headphone socket.

good all rounder, shame there is no battery bay to make it protable. If it had a battery bay it would be 5 star rating.

ONLY WORKED FOR 6 MONTHS!
Comment:
Bought as a bedside radio. First disappointment - can't see the time display in the dark so pretty hopeless. Sound was OK....but hated the funny sound adjustment system. Oly used it for half a hour a day across 6 months and then it woke me up one morning with an ear-piercing buzzing noise, all functions unusable. Talked to Amazon who said 'you have to go to the manufacturers to get a replacement'. Emailed manufacturers. No reply. Phoned manufacturers - was promised call back. Didn't get it. So looks like I have a long hard road to get a replacement - and I don't want another one anyway!!!

A massive disappointment
Comment:
I love DAB and already have three radios from the Pure range. I did a lot of checking out reviews before buying this radio. I liked the look of this one and, given how good the reviews were, thought this would make a great addition to my collection. Unfortunately, this has not proved to be the case. I've tried using the radio in three different places (Oxford, Cardiff and the valleys). In Oxford and Cardiff there is a constant clicking noise which is both irritating and distracting. In the valleys, where my Pure radio works perfectly, I had no digital reception at all and was not even able to get Radio 4 FM. Maybe I've got a duff radio

Fine for a year!
Comment:
Good Points: The automatic tuning makes this an easy radio to set up and use. Nice design. Not too expensive.
Bad points: Some radio stations are not very loud and generally it's not that powerful. Sound quality is ok, better than FM but if you are fussy for crystal clear Hifi sound this will disapoint. After a year the display backlight has started to flicker when it's been on for a few minutes.
Overall a ok product if you want a cheapish DAB. Shame about the backlight flickering!

VFM!
Comment:
Have owned one for about 2 years now, had to send first one back as was very unstable, however no problems with the current one.
Decided on this model as it was the only one with a removable telescopic ariel, which allowed me to connect my dipole in the loft.....what a difference!
We barely recieve a TV signal here let alone digital, now with the external ariel I recieve all the local stations, BBC Nationals and also most from Holland and Belgium!
Only small gripe lack of memory, still at this price hay ho!
Just about to order another for my father for his birthday, say no more really, enjoy!
