Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Great when it works Comment: I knocked a star off because I've had a few problems after updating the device. After a month of non working solutions from tomtom support they finally looked at the device and replaced the mainboard. Since then I've had no problems. Overall it's a very good product, I use it often and there's rarely any map problems. (Which are usually only small things that are easy to correct yourself). Defiantly worth buying to put your mind at ease, it's always nice to know if you get lost you can just get it out. Customer Rating: Summary: Don't buy if you have a Mac Comment: Do not buy this product if you have a Mac as the support team only have Windows tools to fix problems. I bought a new map but after installing it the device is "unable to store settings: file access error". The only solution from TomTom is to plug the device into a Windows PC and run a Windows exe. So I'm stuck with a device that either won't work or works with an out-of-date map. AVOID. Customer Rating: Summary: Beware Updating Comment: The Tom Tom One is an excellent device, but be very wary if you use Tom Tom Home to update it, taking mine straight out the box I connected it to my PC to download the latest map updates and it basically screwed up leaving my One with the dreaded error cross flashing, the problem was sorted by phoning the Tom Tom helpline who were quick to give a solution to what seems to be a common problem having now read the other reviews. Two lessons I have learned always read the reviews and make a backup straight away. Customer Rating: Summary: Tom tom is tom tom Comment: Well after owning a dated Garmin, I decided to upgrade to a Tomtom. I'm not disappointed. The Tomtom is very easy to use and updates are a piece of cake to get. My only complaint is that the £10 Accessory Voucher is dated and when I've tried to purchase stuff, it says the code isnt valid and out of date. Customer Rating: Summary: Mutznutz Comment: Excellent product - can't fault it in anyway. Going to the states later in the year and am intending to buy a map update for SE America. If it's anywhere near as good as the UK version I already have I know I am going to be mega impressed. PS Had no problems updating mine via the PC so other reviewers must have got a 'friday afternoon' job. They exist with all products no matter how good their reputation is!! More Reviews
