It saves messing about taking the bracket off the screen and re-attaching onto the second car. From recollection I think I paid around £15.00 for this item at the time. At it's current price it seems well worth it. Reasonably robust plastic, and hasn't fell off the screen yet!! Comment: It has already been mentioned about the windscreen mount being useless. It is so pathetic that I have not completed a journey of a 4 mile radius without it falling off. The item clearly displays a TomTom branded mount? Did I get this? You bet I didn't! Looks identical but without that TomTom 'hands' symbol, i guess this product never went through the testing phase as all original TomTom products must do. So please electro world amend your pictures and display what you are actually selling. Another problem I have had was with the so called 'USB' car charger? So the USB port on my TomTom is the same USB port I use for connecting it to my laptop?? NO! This charger had a Pin end; even so I tried this and guess what it did not charge my TomTom. No Surprises there. My advice is to go for a TomTom branded product and double check before you buy with the seller whether the items are TomTom branded. This was the only reason i bought the item as I only buy original branded products. With the people who purchased this over a year ago with no problems, I can only say you probably got the original branded mounts and charger that are described as I bought this product a month ago and I have not been in the slightest bit satisfied. I shouldnt have to spit all over my item for it to stick!if someone wanted to borrow my TomTom i would have to tell them to spit on it too?Gross! If i could spend this money again (even though it is not much) I would rather plough it on a bet! at least you have some chance of getting your money's worth. Customer Rating: Summary: Works perfectly Comment: The previous reviewers obviously are not fixing this properly. I am an HGV driver and have this fixed to my windscreen for 12 hours a day for the last 2 years and it's never fallen off once. I start at 4 am and temps in the winter are freezing so have my heater on full blast and it stays stuck fast. My tip is apply some spit and wipe round with your finger, then position on screen and push firmly in the centre. This is important, you will hear the air being pushed out and it should stay put! Customer Rating: Summary: Poor, but best option Comment: I got this mount when I got my tomtom November 2007. It seems to be the best mount for the job i,e, puts the tomtom in view & allows it to be moved around from place to place & also from car to car. It also allows access to the connections on the bottom of my tomtom. I would really prefer a dashboard mount, but wouldn't be able to charge it in the car if I used one of them. I also have a company car so can't affix solidly. Now the bad point, yes it keeps falling off which is dangerous. It hasn't damaged the car or tomtom, but that may be only a matter of time. I have finally got it to stay put for the last couple of months, but expect it to fall off again soon. I wish there was a better solution. More Reviews
