Summary: Really good, useful & does what it says on the tin ..
Comment: First the good points:

Very well made: sturdy & no sharpe points.
Smart brushed silver coloured finish.
Compact & lightweight speaker size - very transportable.
Excellent bluetooth - pairs quickly & easily with my Sony Eric mobile, my wife's Nokia & our son's Samsung mp3 player. Doesn't 'drop' the sound if close enough to devise & doesn't have to be that close.
Sound is good - clear & goes quite loud (not disco levels but well above normal talking volumes)
Connectivity is via bluetooth or line in cable (supplied)
Comes complete with pouch, mains and USB charger.

Bad points:

Not much base - hardly surprising given the small size of the speaker.

And that's it. Great product, easy to use and does EXACTLY what it should do easily & with some style.

Highly recommended.

Summary: Looks WOW! Sounds OUCH!!
Comment: You want to use your laptop in different rooms around the house but the built in speakers are naff. So you need external speakers, but you don't want to be trailing cables around after you, right? Bluetooth - genius - that's the answer! It may well be, but not with the B-Tube. Yes, fresh out of the box it is a thing of beauty, shiny brushed aluminium, cool red and blue LEDs. But the experience is downhill from there. The pairing is fairly easy to set up, using the device is not too complicated (but hardly intuitive - you'll need the manual just to turn it on!) The major let down is the only thing you actually really need from a speaker - SOUND! Tinny in the extreme and crackly beyond about 8 feet. My wife refuses to be in the room when its playing - it really is that bad!

Comment: Very clever product, but the Bluetooth connection can be a little unstable and the product is easily switched on in transit as there is no "lock" mode.

Summary: Quite the best
Comment: I have two other travel speakers, Creative and Sony, but this beats both hands down. Sleek, sexy and the best sound for its size. What I wanted to do was to be able to play my MP3 player wirelessly through this. After searching high and low for a Bluetooth adapter, buying three in the process, I finally found one. Made by a company named Enjoy, the tiny blutooth adapter paired with the Linx and the two together is an absolute marvel. The ones that I tried but wouldn't pair were the Jabra and the Jaybird.

Summary: Decent - just about worth £30
Comment: I bought this as I wanted something portable for use in the garden and bathroom.

For £30, it's just about worth it .... mainly for the convenience and portability it offers as the sound quality is fairly average.

Was a doddle to set up with my phone, which is a Sony W950i so supports A2DP and connects up easy as pie.

Far more hassle getting it working with my computer. XP doesn't support A2DP natively so you'll need to install alternate bluetooth software in order to get it working (and your dongle needs to be a Widcomm based one or you've had it). Got it going eventually but the setup was far from straightforward.

Having said all that, once it is working it does what it says on the tin and it looks pretty smart in the bathroom.

The built in rechargeable battery is a definite plus and it may well come in handy on holiday as a portable speaker to attach to my media player.

Sound quality is pretty average. Very little bass and overall I'd give it about 5/10 on this front but then it was never going to blow your head off with 2x2w output I suppose.

Controls on the device are limited and a wee bit fiddly but OK once you get the hang of them.

Overall, as long as you don't expect miracles on the sound quality front, it's probably just about worth the money. I wouldn't buy it at the £50 it was originally priced at though.
