Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: left its guts behind in my cigarette lighter Comment: Its only when I saw a previous review that the transmitter was swallowed up or left bits behind in their cigarette lighter that I felt compelled to write a review. The exact same thing happened to me, in that I went to extract the transmitter from the lighter and half of it was stuck in the cigarette lighter hole (sorry don't remember the technical term for this) but i thought i must have a weird cigarette lighter and had to extract it using tweezers and kind of put me of using it. Actual performance is pretty good, although not incredibly easy to use Customer Rating: Summary: ipod transmitter Comment: Wasn't really sure how many stars to give this one- once I set it up, it was really good- signal was fine and the sound was good. it was great to be able to listen to my ipod in my car- plus the design (the fact that it is on a stick, type of thing!) meant it was in a good position to skip songs etc. But then it kind of came apart!! I saw that another review commented on the rubber bit on the cigarette lighter part and how it made it more secure- this is true, but I think this bit of the design somehow made it unscrew as it was moved around around in the car (sometimes whoever was in my passenger seat pulled it over to them etc.) and as i pulled it out one day, one part came out and the other stayed stuck in the cigatette lighter socket!! I needed to get some pliers to pull it out. I thought I had fixed it, so put it back in, but the same thing happened again (although this is my fault for thinking I was being all clever and technical and thinking I'd fixed it!!). The design is probably fine if you intend to just leave it in the car, but I wasn't happy to do this- didn't want someone breaking into my car to nick something that cost less than £20!! Am thinking this is something the manufacturers should have thought about?? Hope this helps! Customer Rating: Summary: brilliant, cannot fault it! Comment: I 100% completely advise you to buy this product as I think it is brill and cannot fault it, it arrvied last week and I have had no problems as of yet. I too read all of the previous reviews and agonised over whether I should buy it or not, comparing prices with other models, but decided to take a chance and see if it was good value for money and I am so glad I did. Very easy to install and set up with my ipod nano 2nd generation and very quick to tune in. Cristal clear sound which is very suprising as I live on a road that has very poor reception and plays brill on my speakers with no interference or buzzing even though my car is 10 years old. My only worry is the rubber band that is connected to the adapter that plugs into the cigerette lighter as it is a bit flimsey so you have to be careful when putting it in to secure it, and slowly pulling it out (but thats just common sense to take care with it) Customer Rating: Summary: What more do you want? Comment: I purchased this for my ipod nano 3g. Previously, I had purchased a Griffin Itrip - which was quickly returned to the store. This product pretty much does as it says on the tin and you are not breaking the bank to try it out. Had this in the car and working within seconds. FM Signal much stronger than the Itrip and added benefit of having a continuous charge. Note that, due to battery size of the nano, you will need something that charges as it transmits. Also note, this product comes with several inserts to adjust the holder based onthe size/shape of your ipod. This has an insert for a nano 2g but not a 3g. However, still works and as nano is so light, this is not really an issue at present.
