Earphones are as essential to an mp3 player as the wheels are to a car. It is a wise idea to invest in a pair of earphones that are capable of producing music of all types at all levels of volume and with various enhancements, such as bass or treble. The leader in the market is Bose, which makes earphones that are more often than not noise canceling. Next in line would be Creative, followed by Philips and other electronic brands that have similar features but the quality differs greatly.
