Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Good sound but lacks features Comment: This radio cassette-CD player has a good tone, even at high volume, and a handsome, rather retro, appearance. Its facilities are however basic; not only is there no facility for timer recording, there are no input or output sockets to enable either voice or other transfer recordings into (for the cassette player part) or external speakers or other equipment outwards. The instructions need a couple of readings to understand functions fully. Customer Rating: Summary: Good build quality Comment: Solidly built. Good tone. Only criticism is that the tuner/volume 'window' is not backlit, which makes it difficult to read in dimly lit room Customer Rating: Summary: A Quality Product Comment: Needed a Cassette player to play some old Cassettes from the 80's, looked around, not that many left on the market nowadays. This machine was not cheap but being Sony I knew the overall quality would be good. I was not disappointed, good quality feel to the case, I agree with a few reviews that I read saying the CD mechanism is a bit unusual in the way that it operates but all seems to work great. Sound quality is excellent for s portable machine. all in all very happy, I slight problem, I cannot work out how to store the radio station which I am sure was a feature, suppose I will have to read the manual. Sounds good for a budget small unit; Operation is intuitive; Radio clear on am & fm; Fits nicely on our work surface despite the mains lead! Assuming it proves to be reliable - well pleased!
