Summary: Fantastic
Comment: Got the TV (Real part number KDL-20S3020) with a 24Hr turnaround delivery from Amazon after only
taking (free) supersaver delivery. Maybe things are quiet in terms of stock turnover?
All set
up and tuned in using default settings and auto tuning in less than 10 mins. This is a very easy to
drive digital TV, with a bonus of a proper accessible power switch on top of the set so you don't
have to turn off at the wall socket.
The picture is very very good, matching other Which? best
buys I've had in the past. And the sound is much better than alternatives.
Yes it is about
£100 more than the cheapest you could get at this size, but first impressions are that it is well
worth it.
Build quality is great and the wide choice of connectors (2 scarts) are well
positioned. Finally, this 'silver' trim finish is more of a gun-metal grey, so a nice alternative to
the all black versions.

Summary: Amazon and HDNL strike again
Comment: Congratulations Amazon on yet another item that I will never see.
Last Christmas you managed
to not deliver my Ipod and this year, for an 80th. birthday present I won't be receiving my Sony
tv.
Home delivery network deserve a special thanks for their contribution. Whilst I think it's
commendable that you employ idiots who would otherwise be unemployed, this doesn't really help
me.
I hold my hand up and admit that I was at fault for using Amazon again after last year,
and for that I apologise to myself.
As for the tv review, I'm off to Currys so will be able to
write a review shortly.

Summary: Ideal bedroom TV
Comment: I was looking for a new bedroom TV to replace my 15" Trinitron.

Looking around at
various models, i was impressed by this TV's elegant design and simplicty.

The picture
is good. Motion is smooth and grain is low, while colour is rich for LCD.

The menus look
basic, but do the job and offer plenty of options. The remote is good and channel switching is quick
and precise.

Perhaps the biggest surprise is the sound quality. Sound is sweet, detailed
and weighty compared to most rivals which seem harsh and thin. The TV has a line-in so could even
double as an iPod dock.

After deciding on this TV i ordered it from amazon and it
arrived within 2 days, in perfect condition. Setup was easy and my PS3 looks fantastic in HD.

The only criticism is the viewing angle - which could better - although this is an issue with
LCDs in general.

Overall this this is an excellent little TV.

Summary: Disappointing Analogue Subtitles
Comment: As we are not in a Freeview area we have to use the analogue tuner on this model & as a member of
our family is hard of hearing, the subtitle facility is of great importance to us.

We
were highly satisfied with our old Sony CRT TV, so Sony was a natural replacement choice. The
KDL-20S3000 kept losing the analogue subtitles & we had to change channels back & forth to reinstate
them. Wonderful Amazon (I echo all the other's reviews regarding their excellent sevice) sent
another TV which I ran alongside the 1st TV via a multi-TV aerial amplifier. The same problem
occurred on both TVs at different intervals.

Sony UK said that the new dual
(analogue/digital) tuners are more sensative & require a stronger reception signal. I was
disappointed as reception was fine with my old CRT TV & this TV's fault wasn't rectified with an
amplifier.

The KDL-20S3000 is a lovely TV if you don't rely on subtitles. Maybe Sony
should review the robustness of their tuners rather than blame the strength of reception signals.

Comment: After reading all the reviews I decided on this Sony TV and I am glad I did. It's fantastic, the
quality as always with Sony is sharp and crisp. Sound is good for such a small TV but it is ideal
for the bedroom. Thanks Amazon for the fast delivery - I am very impressed
