Spotlight customer reviews: Customer Rating: Summary: Creative Couldn't Care Less Comment: Beware of Creative customer care. I recently contacted them with a problem with my MP3 player. Basically, although it worked fine and was fully loaded with my whole music and video collection, I couldn't add any further content to it. Customer care took me through a diagnostic process which ended with a instructions to completely reformat the machine, stripping it of its operating system. I e-mailed them to say I was nervous of doing this, but they insisted it was necessary and that if it didn't work I'd be invited to send the unit in for repair or replacement. When I took the fateful step and lost everything they informed me that I was out of warranty and they wanted £60 to repair it (even though they had known my purchase date and had a copy of my Amazon receipt from the beginning). As this unit can now be bought for about this amount I had no option but to bin it. Result, no player, 4500 tracks and dozens of films lost forever. If they had told me the cost of repair before pushing me to reformat I could have made and informed decision. Do not trust their advice, in fact if I were you I'd buy elsewhere! Customer Rating: Summary: Frustrating Comment: Very short battery life, even if you don't use it. So every time I feel like taking it out with me, I can't because it needs recharging on the pc which takes at least 30 minutes. I find navigation is awkward and complicated, and apparently shortens the battery life rapidly. Apart from that it's fine.. Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect Comment: I've always had a Creative MP3 player and they have never let me down. The Creative Stone is just all out improvement from the last and faultless at that. Seems the main complaint is the battery life, but I have never had an issue plus it can be charged on almost anything with a USB connection (like a Playstation3). So all you need to do is keep a wire at hand. Customer Rating: Summary: Best mp3 player I have owned Comment: This is a tiny player with v high quality sound. The interface works well, it can be used in any computer without software or as a datastick. Fab device long battery life. Stop looking and buy it. Customer Rating: Summary: Zen Stone Plus 2GB - Killer product, krap reliability. Comment: I bought one of these in Oct 07, fantastic little product, until it developed a fault and had to be replaced in April 08. 4 months later I have the same fault, turn it on and it immediately turns off. Tried reset & mains charge to no avail. So.. while it works its fab, but if it fails after a few months it just becomes another task to get sorted out. Luckily my Zen Vision M 60G which I have had for over a year is showing no signs of problem, although it has had to be reset too many time to recollect.. Maybe its just the flash models, as I had a Zen Muvo 2 4GB [hard drive] player for years and never once had a problem with it. [remind me again why I gave it to a friend!!] More Reviews
