Summary: Great but doesn't charge latest gen ipod
Comment: If you are looking for great sound quality and not bothered about bells and whistles this is a superb piece of kit. For the money it is a steal.

However, niggles include not being able to charge up my new nano whilst docked and also the remote control is limited to volume and skipping tracks.

One final positive is that it looks the business!!!!

    Summary: Good but flawed
    Comment: Nice looking unit, good sound (very good for the price, actually). Supports my iPhone 3G. But let down on three points;

1, Does not charge the iPhone ("charging is not supported by this accessory" displayed on the phone).
2, The remote control is tempremental - sometimes working from a long way away at a weird angle, sometimes have to almost poke the iPhone/iPod with it!
3, Remote only controls play/pause, next/previous track, on/off and volume. If you want to change albums etc. you need to control the iPhone yourself.

On balance, point three is not too bad considering the relative cost of the unit. It doesn't bother me greatly as I always listen to the thing on shuffle anyway.

For the money - the sound quality is great and the unit performs adequately. However, the lack of charging is a real detractor for this unit - hence 3 stars.

    Summary: You'll like it
Comment: This is a lovely little unit. It looks classy and sounds amazing for something so compact. I use an ipod Classic which fits neatly, re-charges and looks as if it belongs. Some reviews say the remote is not all singing and dancing, but I'm happy to walk over to the unit and make adjustments! You can move through tracks etc with the remote, do the volume, pause etc. For a fuss-free docking station which easily transfers from room to room, sounds full, rich and clear, looks great and costs two thirds of the price of its nearest rival this is the one. But don't tell your hi-fi friends it was less than £80! They'll wonder where you discovered Klipsch...

    Summary: Value for money but...
Comment: At £85 this system is good value for money. But to suggest, as other reviewers have, that it is as good as (or even better) than the Bose Sound deck is frankly ridiculous.
While the Bose delivers perfect sound at any volume the Klipsch delivers a boomy, bass heavy sound if you crank it up.
Not only that but is difficult to operate with an Itouch and, despite what is says to the contrary, does NOT charge an Itouch while it is playing.
If your budget is less than £100 then the Klipsch is fine. If you can afford a little more check out the Bose Sound dock (original model) at Comet for £145.
If, however, you have £260 to spare then treat yourself to the magnificent new Bose Sounddock II portable. You will not be disappointed.

    Summary: 'HG' or 'SXT'?
Comment: I couldn't decide whether to go for the 'HG' or 'SXT', so I got both :0)

They are both excellent and will not disappoint. It will only depend on looks and what iPod you have?

In MY opinion, the 'HG' is sexier looking but larger? The 'SXT' is much smaller/tidier and modern looking? The bass on the 'HG' is a little bit more rich and satisfying than the 'SXT', but it is a amazing that something the size of the 'SXT' can still push out a decent enough bass? The 'HG' power consumption is much higher than the 'SXT'. They are both well made and at the current price are value for money. The choice is yours?
