Soo comfortable i can hardly believe it!
Comment:
I needed headphones that would stay in my ears for doing poi, gym type stuff and a little headbanging.
I wanted unobtrusive, comfortable in ear headphones that most importantly would STAY IN/ON MY EARS!
These headphone come with 3 sizes of extremely soft malleable in ear padded/fitting thingies that you cover the speakers with. All three fit my ears but I prefer the medium ones due to the sound/breath ability balance. Usefully the larger ones seem to act as a sound block, similar to sound reduction head phones, but do make my ears feel a little oxygen less, good short term, not sure i would recommend for prolonged use, but great for a 10 minutes, block out all distractions 'in the zone' push.
Sound quality wise, these are very surprising for such inexpensive in ear headphones. If anything i wold say a little base heavy, but i like that. I can easily listen to heavy metal or trance with no lyrical problems.
Fit over the ears is also very good, and i haven't lost an ear phone yet, no matter how much i shake my head about.
Overall very comfy, great sound and what a price! These headphone laugh at all, my others, mostly because THEY STAY ON!
oh, and normally the most important thing i go for is in-line volume, these headphone do not have inline volume, but i was so impressed i didn't notice.

Beware
Comment:
These headphones are comfortable and the sound quality is reasonable considering the price. However, after approximately four weeks of daily use (nothing strenuous) my earphones started producing less and less sound rendering them useless. As mentioned in other reviews this is not an isolated case so your best to look elsewhere.

Started failing shortly after delivery
Comment:
When these earphones arrived, they worked very nicely; small form-factor, comfortable, and providing good audio.
However, after just a few weeks of use, the right-hand channel started to fail -- the sound output become tinny and very much quieter. Given other comments here, it doesn't appear to be an isolated case -- this model of headphones appears to have a strong tendency to fail prematurely.
Happily, Amazon have been very good about accepting the headphones as defective even though the 30-day no-quibbles window had just lapsed. But I would warn anyone else considering this pair of earphones that the build quality may not satisfy.

Does exactly what it says on the tin.
Comment:
It didn't take long for me to become frustrated with the performance and grip of the standard-issue iPod earphones, and subsequently I used two Sennheiser earphone products (in-ear without earhooks, and normal earphones with earhooks) in succession. The Sennheisers were better than Apple's standard-issue, although not by a country mile - bass levels in particular, and audio quality generally, were poor; and getting the damn thing to grip and stay plugged into one's ear was a routine problem, even at walking speed.
I despaired of finding anything more worthwhile until I took a chance on the Philips SHS8000 about a year ago. Although cheaper, the Philips turned out to be far superior to the competition from Apple and Sennheiser. Audio quality is very good, and bass levels in particular are reasonably strong, even when the iPod equalizer is set to neutral. The rubber hooks' grip on your ear is secure yet gentle. And, provided you select the size of rubber in-ear bud that's right for your ear (the Philips comes with a choice of 3 sizes), you shouldn't have any difficulty getting it to stay plugged into your ears. I don't run, but the unit has performed well at walking and jogging speeds on the treadmill and crosstrainer.
The sole negative (and the only reason this is a 4-star rather than a 5-star review) is that, when unplugging the earphones from your ears, I've found that the rubber buds loosen, fall off and therefore get lost rather too easily. If Philips could improve the "stickiness" of its buds, that would earn this product a fifth star from me.
Overall, however, the SHS8000 is an excellent product.

OK for the gym, but don't expect great sound
Comment:
If, like me, you are fed up with your earbuds falling out of, or your earphones falling away from, your ears, then this is the product for you - no matter how mad you run/row they don't fall out. BUT, if you want to appreciate the bass-line to your latest Trance compliation during your work-out - FORGET IT !! The bass response is non-existant, despite Philips' claim. In summary, make sure that you know what you want these for BEFORE you buy them.
